The first permanent pickleball court was constructed in the backyard of Joel Pritchard’s friend and neighbour, Bob O’Brian.

A corporation was created to protect there new sport. In 1975 The National Observer published the first ever article about pickleball. The first known tournament in the world was held in '76.

The first pickleball rulebook was published. Soon a new paddle was engineered from fiberglass and nomex honeycomb panels.

By 1990 pickleball was being played in all 50 states.

The first ever pickleball website launched called Pickleball Stuff.

USA Pickleball Association and ONIX Pickleball were established.

The first USAPA National Tournament

Gameplay and rules were invented by 3 friends in Washington, US.
